The point-of-view is from the Jewish perspective, which has greatest authority and agency through the character Tevye (a diagetic character-narrator).

Some narration is skilfully disguised as normal dialogue when Tevye talks to Tourism (the audience). The narration is very important, as it totally silences some views, and totally testifies to others.

The story world appears the same as ours and the events follow a linear narrative. However, multiform worlds appear when time stops for Tevye to make a decision. Even though this narrative is musical, we can accept it also as truthful, since Jewish customs were integrated with such traditional music. There is no authority given to a narrator, but all focus is on the main character. Although the short film is more of a montage of clips rather than a narrative, one could conclude that the action line consists of the character living a normal day of his life.

The Character line shows what is going on behind the scenes. Monochromatic footage is used to illustrate the character’s reality; memories, interpretations and feelings. The images that he sees are distorted memories and experiences, which Tourism the morbid feeling of others that this character gets, and thus the reason for isolating himself.
